Lithuanian National Radio and Television, also known as LRT, is Lithuania's public radio and television broadcaster. It was founded in 1926 and has been broadcasting over the airwaves ever since. LRT operates two television channels (LRT televizija and LRT Kultūra) and four radio stations (LRT radijas, LRT Klasika, LRT Opus, and internet radio LRT Lituanica). LRT's mission is to provide unbiased and high-quality news and entertainment programming to Lithuanians both within and outside the country. It is financed by the state budget and license fees paid by individuals and companies. LRT is a member of the European Broadcasting Union.
